This second Town Hall has a focus on the CENSUS and its importance for Hawaiʻi - particularly for the many Pacific Islander groups here (including Native Hawaiians) and students. Although the census administrators have extended deadlines for enumeration, it is still an important issue. In addition, Pacific Islanders must be counted to take advantage of Hawaiʻiʻs fair share of future allocations from the federal government.
This is a critical time for controlling the spread of COVID-19 in Hawai‘i. By staying home, limiting our exposure to others, and only going out for our most essential needs, we can save lives and reduce hospitalizations that could overwhelm our healthcare system.

A three-night restriction on driving will go into effect for Oahu on Friday night, Mayor Kirk Caldwell and Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard announced Thursday.
The rules, which officials are calling a curfew, prohibit people from driving between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The curfew ends at 5 a.m. Monday, city officials said.
